A different kind of Great Communicator

March 21, 2009

Soaring rethoric and inspiring passages are things of the past.  Obama’s media strategy seems to be less about oratorical flourish, and more about changing the dynamic to bypass the cable news chatter, the ‘analysis’ and pundit posturing.  In other words, grabbing hold of the national debate.

I don’t think this unprecedented Leno interview will be his last.  In fact long-format interviews with little or no editing will be a weekly occurrence at least.  We are going to quickly get used to seeing him everywhere, telling us what he’s doing and why.  So maybe we’ll feel a little less need to watch Anderson or Chris or whoever to be (mis)informed.

UPDATE 3/23: Yeah someone agrees
